About Us
GFDD is a non profit, non partisan organization dedicated to the advancement of global collaboration and exchange relevant to Dominican professionals, general audiences and institutions in the homeland and abroad. The Foundation conducts research, enhances public understanding, designs public policies, devises strategies, and offers capacity building in areas crucial to social, economic, democratic and cultural sustainable development.
GFDD promotes better understanding and appreciation of Dominican culture, values and heritage in the Dominican Republic, US and worldwide.
GFDD creates, facilitates, and implements wider scope international human development projects, building on its own experience, expertise and strong national and international networks.


The objective of this event is to benefit the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) projects and programs promoting social, economic and democratic development in the Dominican Republic. GFDD is a private, 501(c)3, US registered not for profit, non-partisan organization, dedicated to promoting collaboration between international institutions and the Dominican Republic, conducting research and analysis, providing educational and training programs and implementing development and exchange opportunities for Dominicans in the country and the diasporas, in areas critical to the advancement and modernization of the Dominican Republic.
The first edition of the GFDD Golf Tournament took place in Hastings on Hudson, New York, on September 2010 at the America's oldest golf club, St. Andrews Golf Club (1888). In July 2014, the 4th edition of the golf tournament was held for the first time in Miami.
The 22nd edition of the GFDD Golf Tournament will be held at Miami Shores Country Club.
